A project evaluation questionnaire was completed in three partner schools by students and teachers.
The students and teachers participation in the project was voluntary.
13 Polish students visited a partner school in Gutersloh in Germany and 7 students visited a partner school in Teramo in Italy. Nine Italian students and three German students came to Zabrze in April 2013.

All the students who partcipated in the project became more self-confident, tolerant and open to new cultures.
Students improved their eating habits, they pay more attention to the quality of food the buy.
They also notice the fact that they know much more about the negative effects of smoking and eating junk food than it was before the project started.
Most students participate in school life more actively. They take part in different school events not only related to our Comenius project. They initiate their own activities.
They shared their project experience with their family and friends. All the students consider their participation in the project to be a very important life experience and an unforgettable adventure.
All the students would recommend similar projects to their friends because such projects develop their personal and professional skills, they help to develop students' strong points and overcome weaknesses.
The majority of students consider partner school visits as most interesting project events. Meetings with experts, voluntary and charity work, culinary and sports activities were very important for them as well.
Teachers improved mainly their personal and professional skills. The project was beneficial for all three schools. Polish partner school organized a lot of events, which enabled local community to integrate and develop mutual cooperation.

Polish Comenius Team: A trip to Krakow - chocolate confectionary workshops and business workshops.
We went to Krakow on 21st June to take part in chocolate confectionary workshops in Krakow Chocolate Manufacture and in business workshops in the Krakow Technology Park. Business workshops were organised by Malopolska Regional Development Agency.
Our students made their own pralines. During business workshops they could learn how to promote a region in the world and how to build their own professional careers.
There were also students who were very active in our project activities and this trip was a reward for them.
We also visited the Kościuszko Mound in Krakow to take the last group picture of our Comenius Team and admire the panoramic view of the city.

Polish Comenius Team presents "A Culinary Trip around Europe with Comenius"
We organised "A Culinary Trip around Europe with Comenius". Our students could improve their culinary skills and broaden their knowledge about European cuisines. Our gastronomy technology teacher, Ms Mielczarek taught the students to prepare shrimps for cooking. Shrimps were needed to make Paella, a traditional Spanish dish. Kamil Zdziebłowski - a future confectioner, made a Genoa chocolate cake. The students prepared pork sirlion with plums cooked in wine - a traditional French recipe. They also cooked a creamy asparagus soup, a recipe comes from our Comenius recipes book and was presented by our German partner school. Piotr Hulin made spaghetti Bolognese with a new pasta machine. There were also stuffed (different kinds of cheese) courgette rolls.

Food Revolution Day - "Cook with a smile" - 17 May 2013 in Zespół Szkół Spożywczych
Food Revolution Day was organised on 17th May 2013 in our school. The action was called "Cook with a smile". We invited students and teachers from four schools. First, we had a meeting with Mr Wiaterek who is a beekeeper. He talked about the production of honey, healing properties of honey and also about the use of honey in everyday life. Then, students had culinary workshops with Ms Mielczarek and took part in a culinary competition. They not only prepared typical Silesian salads and biscuits - to promote our regional cuisine but also some dishes which come from our Comenius Recipes Book for example a vitamin jelly from fresh strawberries. They also had a mulimedia culinary quiz about Silesian cuisine and healthy lifestyle. All the participants had a great fun and enjoyed their time in our school.

German pupils visiting old people's house
During the last weeks, several visits to an old people's house in Gütersloh took place. The German pupils visited the elderly people and joined them in sports sessions and brain training meetings. Both sides thoroughly enjoyed the meetings - the elderly people were really happy to meet so many young girls and our pupils could learn a lot about the life of the elderly people. They could see firsthand how important it is to keep fit - mentally and physically - all your life.
